We’ve all heard the clichés: Venture Capitalists invest in people, not business plans. Culture trumps strategy. Our people are our greatest assets… But how do you find a great #2, the perfect partner, and build out a killer management team and company culture? In the early stages of building a business, these may be the greatest challenges we face in getting our dreams and ideas off the ground. And in this workshop, you’ll hear from 2 entrepreneurs and leaders who got it wrong many times before they finally got it right. The day Founder Steve Satterwhite hired President and COO John Biedermann, their company went from a struggling startup to a thriving, profitable and predictable growth machine. Come here their story. Find out how, over the past 12 years, Steve and John play to each other’s strengths, divide and conquer, and created the kind of business employees, customers and investors want to be a part of.

This event is intended for startups that meet the following criteria:
Steve Satterwhite has always been a bit of a maverick, an outsider who has learned the art of leadership and how to build a business by failing often before finally succeeding in a big way. Raised in the small town of La Grange, Texas by entrepreneurial parents, he grew up seeing firsthand the ups and downs of entrepreneurialism, and the unpredictability that often accompanies it. He also had the invaluable experience of seeing people he loved get up every day and get back in the game no matter the circumstances.
Steve launched Entelligence in 1997, and has been CEO for the past 16 years. Though the company struggled early on, Steve stubbornly stuck with his philosophy that everyone has significant talent, and it’s the leader’s job to help them discover what that talent is and put it to use in the best way.
John Biedermann has served as COO of Entelligence for over 15 years, and has played a pivitol role in the company’s growth to serving over 30,000 clients. Says Entelligence CEO Steve Satterwhite, “The leaders and managers of the world’s largest data storage and virtualization hardware and software companies trust John. Flat out, they know John has their back.” Over his time with Entelligence, John has risen to become one of the leading executives in the IT services world. John cares deeply about creating excellence for Entelligence’s customers, and comes to know them inside and out.
