Join us on March 8 at 4:00pm as Dr. Michael Evans leads a hands-on workshop, in which you will craft your elevator pitch!

***Please draft a 90-second pitch prior to attending, and be prepared to improve it***

Dr. Michael Evans
Evans Consulting

Dr. Michael Evans is a consultant specializing in technology and financial management in high-tech companies. He has over 25 years of experience in the energy and environmental area, including air pollution control technology analysis, combustion systems R&D, and electric utility end-use R&D. Mike has additional experience in aerospace reentry R&D and electronic radio frequency identification product development. His background includes founder and executive positions (COO, CFO, and VP) in three startups in both product and engineering services companies.

From 1990 until 2005, Mike was at the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto, California. He served as Director of Subsidiary Operations and as an executive in several of its subsidiaries. For the past 12 years, Mike has volunteered extensively with the Houston Technology Center’s Energy Practice as an advisor to energy start-up companies, with the Rice Alliance on its energy and IT advisory boards, as a mentor at Surge, and as a judge at the Rice Business Plan Competition. He is also a lecturer in entrepreneurship in the Jones Graduate School of Business. Mike is also a past President of the Rice Engineering Alumni. He has undergraduate degrees from Rice University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University.
