Brainchild of Emily Keeton, alongside JR Reale and Blair Garrou, Station Houston was launched out of SURGE, another Houston accelerator. The mission was straightforward: “surround entrepreneurs with all the resources and infrastructure they need to succeed,” according to Keeton. JR also related this new hub to stimulation within the local job market. As oil prices drop, Houston needed create new jobs to maintain economic function. Finally, the founders emphasize that “we are not reinventing the wheel.” Inspired by hubs in Chicago, Station wants to refine and make known the already-existing resources and talent within Houston.
