With a large focus of Station Houston’s goals based on connections and networking, investor-startup meetings are essential for the growth and maintenance of the Houston innovation sector. Enter the TiE Houston Venture Forum, a product of the partnership between Station Houston and TiE Houston. During this event, investors were able to have more personal, conversational meetings with startups, allowing for a better understanding between the two parties, as well as a more personal and real pitch. One of the investors, Big Delta Systems, was actually a startup itself, and co-founder and CEO Charudatta Galande reflected on his experience with investors, saying “ the most challenging part (of fundraising) has been to connect with investors who understand our space or are willing to step outside their comfort zone to understand and access deals in a new space.” Station is excited to move forward with this event in the future!
